I’m a history major at Jacksonville State, and I just learned that the shortest war in history was between Zanzibar and England in 1896. Zanzibar surrendered after 38 minutes.

Maybe there’s something we can all learn from this. Perhaps without a dumb war that costs us a trillion dollars we wouldn’t have this banking and economic meltdown going on. Which impacts me directly.  Before, I had student aid and a decent tuition loan.  Now, not as much. I had to come up with $1800 to cover the current semester and I only had two weeks to find the money when I found that out.

I found some money in my car. I went to Car Title Loans in Hueytown, which is kinda like a car pawn shop.  The best part is it’s all online. It’s done in 15 minutes and the money comes in the next day.  Perfect.  Because I have to make history, I can’t let money problems slow me down.

You gotta wonder how people get into some situations. Like the other day I was reading that on average, 100 people choke to death on ballpoint pens every year. How does that happen?

I have a brother who used to use thing like pens to scoop up peanut butter for a little snack. Don’t ask me why. It defies explanation.

That same brother doesn’t know how to manage money. When he’s out of cash, he lets his bills go and ends up paying penalties everywhere. His bills are bigger the next month and for months to follow.  Crazy.

When I’m short of money, I get loan on my car from a car title loan company.  I go on the internet and click into Car Title Loans in Homewood. Easy, fast, money gets there in a day, and my bills are paid on time. I pay it off as I can, and it doesn’t involve penalty fees. And I eat my peanut butter on bread, no pens involved.
